This Privacy Policy explains how dhruva (also referred to as "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, stores, and shares information in connection with the dhruva platform available at trydhruva.in (the "Service"). Please read this policy carefully. By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to the practices described here.
dhruva is currently in beta. We are an early-stage product, and parts of the Service are still being developed. We have written this policy in plain language so that you can understand what happens with your data. Where we are unsure or things may change, we have said so.
dhruva is operated from New Delhi, India. As of the effective date of this policy, dhruva has not been registered as a separate legal entity. We will update this section when registration is complete.
If you have questions about this policy or how your data is handled, please contact:
We will respond to privacy-related requests within a reasonable timeframe and, in any event, within the timelines required by applicable law.
dhruva is intended for users 18 years of age or older who are based in India. By using the Service, you confirm that you meet both conditions. If you are under 18, please do not create an account or submit any information to us.
We do not currently offer the Service to users outside India. If you access the Service from outside India, you do so at your own initiative and we may not be able to serve you.
We collect the following information directly from you when you sign up and use dhruva:
We retain the original CV file you upload along with the structured information we extract from it. We do this so that we can re-run analyses, improve parsing accuracy, and personalise the Service to your goals.
We do not collect special category data such as caste, religion, health, biometric information, sexual orientation, or financial account details. Please do not enter such information into dhruva.
To help you find people relevant to your job search, dhruva looks up and displays information about working professionals based in India. These people are not dhruva users. They have not signed up for the Service, and the data we hold about them is the kind of professional information they have made publicly available on the internet - typically the same information one would see by visiting their public professional profile.
The information we may hold about a non-user professional includes their name, current employer, job title, professional history, education, location, and a publicly inferred work email address (where one is generated through industry-standard email verification techniques and confirmed as deliverable).
Legal basis. We rely on the legitimate interest of providing a professional networking and outreach service to our users, using business contact information that has been made publicly available. This is the same basis used by other professional contact and recruitment platforms operating in this space.
Refresh and retention. We may retain non-user professional data for as long as it is useful to provide the Service, with periodic refreshes (typically every 6 to 8 months) to keep information current. We do not currently apply a fixed automatic deletion period to this data, although this may change as the Service matures.
Opt-out. If you are a working professional and you do not want your professional information stored or used by dhruva, you can write to us at contact@trydhruva.in and request deletion. We will remove your information from our active systems within a reasonable timeframe and within 30 days of a verified request.
Inferences and AI-generated text. When showing you information about a contact, dhruva may include text that has been generated by an artificial intelligence model - for example, a short summary of why a particular person may be a relevant connection. AI-generated text can be incomplete or inaccurate and should not be treated as a factual statement about the person being described. You are responsible for verifying any such information before relying on it for outreach.
If you choose to connect your Gmail account to dhruva, we use Google's official APIs to send emails on your behalf and to track the status of conversations you initiate through dhruva. You can use dhruva without connecting Gmail. Gmail connection is fully optional.
When you connect Gmail, we receive and store the following:
We do not read or store any other email in your inbox. We do not access mail outside of conversations you initiated through dhruva.
Disconnecting Gmail. You can disconnect Gmail from dhruva at any time from your account settings, and you can revoke dhruva's access directly from your Google Account permissions page. On request to contact@trydhruva.in, we will delete the Gmail-derived data we hold about you within 30 days.
We use the information described above to:
We do not use your information for behavioural advertising. dhruva does not sell your data, and we do not plan to.
To run the Service, we share certain information with a limited number of third-party service providers ("subprocessors") who process data on our behalf and under contract.
Categories of subprocessors we use:
Named subprocessors on request. A current list of named subprocessors used by dhruva is available on request. If you would like the list, please email contact@trydhruva.in.
International transfers. Some of the providers we use process data outside India, including in the United States. Where this happens, we rely on the contractual protections offered by those providers and on the legitimate interest in providing a functional service to our users.
We do not share your information with anyone we would describe as a "partner" rather than a service provider. We do not share your information with colleges, recruiters, or third parties for marketing purposes.
dhruva relies on third-party large language models to produce parts of its output, including drafts, summaries, scoring rationales, and classifications. You should be aware that:
We may improve our own internal prompts, scoring logic, and ranking systems based on aggregate patterns of how users interact with the Service. This work happens internally and does not involve sending your data to AI providers for the purpose of training a public model.
dhruva uses cookies and similar browser technologies that are strictly necessary to keep you signed in and to make the Service function - for example, the session cookies set by our authentication provider.
We do not currently use cookies for advertising or for third-party analytics. If we add analytics or product measurement tools in the future, we will update this policy and notify users.
You have the following rights in relation to your personal information:
To exercise any of these rights, email us at contact@trydhruva.in from the email address associated with your dhruva account. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request, particularly for deletion or export.
Note on cached data after deletion. When you delete your account, we will delete the personal information you provided to us. Information about non-user professionals that was retrieved during your searches may continue to exist in our shared cache, since it is not personal to you and is used to serve other users. Non-user professionals can request deletion of their own data using the process described in section 4.
We may keep limited records (such as security logs or records of deletion requests) for a short additional period where reasonable for compliance and abuse prevention.
We use industry-standard practices to protect your data, including:
As an early-stage company, we do not currently hold formal security certifications such as SOC 2 or ISO 27001. We will revisit this as the company grows.
No service can guarantee perfect security. While we work hard to protect your information, we cannot promise that it will never be subject to unauthorised access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. If we become aware of a security incident affecting your personal information, we will notify you and the appropriate authorities as required by law, and in any event without undue delay.
dhruva is not intended for, and is not knowingly used by, anyone under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please email us at contact@trydhruva.in and we will delete it.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time as the Service evolves or as required by law.
When we make material changes, we will notify you by email and update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Continued use of the Service after a policy update means you accept the updated terms.
This Privacy Policy and any disputes arising from it are governed by the laws of India. The courts at New Delhi, India will have exclusive jurisdiction over any disputes relating to this policy or the Service.
If you have questions, complaints, or requests relating to your privacy or this policy:
We will acknowledge legitimate requests promptly and respond within the timelines required by applicable law.
This policy is provided in good faith to describe our actual practices. We are an early-stage company and parts of the Service may evolve. Where they do, this policy will be updated.
